about

10 years.
Certainly they just fly by don't they?

10 years ago Fizzing was Alone's first blinking steps into a bigger world. It was a huge passion project, born from the idea "what if I really commit and try and do something I'm really proud of?"

You know what? I am. For every fumble, mistake, oddness, thing I now cringe at, the EP remains a thing I'm so ultimately happy with. It felt like such a weight off my shoulders to actually release it, and it led to so many great new friends, opportunities and more.

This is a slightly rejigged version of the said EP. Every track is there and accounted for, but I've moved the instrumentals for Heat Death and Flat Earth into the main track list. If you don't like it.. fine, the vocal versions are still there for you! Hey, its my EP and I can do what George Lucas does if I want? Right? But unlike Lucas, at least I give the old bits *wink*.

Included in the track list is Everything Might Just Matter, a mixtape of sorts made from all those bits that were left over from the writing process. This was originally on the special edition CD that came with first orders, and I've now lost. It's like a making of documentary, but of sounds! Then there are the demos, live bits of bleeps and more.

I hope you enjoy!
James

"These remarkably well-conceived tracks echo the likes of Ratatat, early Eno, Susumu Yokota and Múm, which, for many leftfield electro/indie buffs traces some of the greatest music the genre has to offer. " - The MMP

Songs about space, escapism, the death of the universe and the layout of the planet.

about

Alone Bristol, UK

Retro games consoles filtered through digital delays and drum machines. Layered with guitars and some distortion. Alone paints a post-something slice of hazy danceable sounds pulled from late night memories of virtual adventures.
